Here's a few words from Jane Siberry from her Facebook page about Sue's opening for her Friday, February 8. "Sue Wilkinson did a fine job of sweet singing and then lifting the roof, all the while trying to respond to my questions to her in-between songs. good work."

Heavily influenced by R&B greats such as Aretha Franklin and Betty Carter, Sue Wilkinson is a refreshing originator and performer of soulful Americana music—refreshing in that she forces you feel every emotion on the spectrum. Through bursts of "rockin' R&B" from her acoustic piano and soul-stimulating vocals, Wilkinson not only dissects every dirty emotion, but she wallows around in them until the fear of that emotion is erased. Of course, just when tears begin to well up in the corners of your eyes, Wilkinson throws out a song so fun and playful that you're compelled to leave the seat and groove to the beat.

Most people from Charleston have probably never heard of Sue Wilkinson, let alone her music. But for one night during Piccolo Spoleto, she will touch people with her songs-damn good songs too-full of energy and soul. The Sue G. Wilkinson Band is one of those soulful secrets that make Piccolo a treasure.

Her limited edition pre-release EPs, See About Me and Sympatico are available from her official andmp3.com websites respectively. The latter is a digital audio music CD which will pay mp3 on computer as well as normal audio on a standard player. We were also provided a couple of ditional adult alternative tracks from Sue's forthcoming album to review.

The recent release of The Private Music of Patrick O’Hearn, a collection of the Grammy-winning musician’s electronic-based instrumental music for the 10-year-old Private Music label, offers a time for the Lithia Springs, Ga. Resident to both reflect on the past and look to the future.
